Michael, co-owner of Above & Beyond has been doing my hair for close to a year. More than once I have been made to wait for my appointment while Michael finishes his cigarette or completes some task. A little, sorry to keep you waiting would have been nice, instead I have felt unappreciated. I have continued to be a client because I like his color sense. However, the last two events have pushed me over the edge. My appointment six weeks ago was scheduled for 9 a.m., but the day before my appointment I received a computer message reminding me of my 10:00 appointment. This mixup worked out because I had no other plans and was able to figure out what was going on. Never an apology for the mixup, I didn't expect much but a simple I'm sorry would have been nice. Michael again scheduled me for six weeks out and I have the hand written appointment card for Jan. 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. This time I went to Above & Beyond, they had moved. No call to let me know, fortunately it was only blocks away so I made my way to the new location. I was not very happy when I reached the new location only to find the salon not open! I waited for at least 15 minutes and no one showed up. I called and left a message for Michael. I let him know he had not only moved without contacting me, he had not even showed up for my appointment! I told him I was unhappy with this service and treatment. I gave him my phone number and told him to call me if he'd like. No calls. I paid what I thought was an expensive fee for Michael's services and he could count on a cash $20 tip each time I was there. I was not a difficult customer, although I have little hair to attend to. I have made an appointment at a new salon and am looking forward to much better customer service. I would like to warn people looking for a dependable, friendly environment to get their hair done, not to choose Michael at Above and Beyond.
