Preserving the story of one of the first major industries to occupy the area, the Mission Mill Museum traces the history of the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill within the company's own historic building. Inside the building, original machinery used in the production of woolen items is on display, along with enlightening recreated areas. The museum complex has various local historic buildings removed from their original locations including the 1840s Jason Lee House, home to a Methodist missionary who became one of region's first settlers. It is located in the eastern part of town, beside Willamette University.
